Concentrate on Annie Duke

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

Annie Duke mightn’t have won her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she is one of the most feared poker players at the ring games at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha hi low.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run crazy following a large win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four children. Annie was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of card competitors. If you do not believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who educated her how to gamble on the game.

However, Mrs. Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has won her cut of hard tables, including knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions. They are both competitors that have the ability to capture the large $$$$$ and do it with a smile.

Annie is a tough player at any table considering that she is a natural poker player, but it is a little more than simply being great at the game. Annie is very intelligent and graduated from Columbia U where she took a double major in English and Psychology.

When you take a seat across from Annie at the poker table you’ll see Annie Duke is there to compete in the game and she begins "sizing" you up as soon as you join the table. If you cannot wager like a winner, then do not waste your time.

Earning over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Mrs. Duke became a adviser to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to sharpen his skills and develop into a power at the tables.

You will likely glimpse her at the Bellagio, you will observe her on television and you might even compete against her in an online poker match, but don’t anticipate a simple win. Except of course you are a camp-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. Although, it would be fun to mention you played at the at the table with "The Duke".
