Poker Aces – how to play them

[ English | Deutsch | Español | Français | Italiano ]

Poker Aces refers to two aces being dealt before theflop. It’s the best possible before theflop hand intexas hold’em Poker. But despite this a good many competitors find themselves on the wrong end when dealt these cards.

When you are dealt a set of Aces, you just don’t drop out pre-flop. You are positioned with the greatest possible hand at this stage of the round. So how do you wager with Poker Aces ? Do you simply go all-in? I would say definitely no to that.

Always remember, you are looking to generate as much profit from this strong position. You will want to maximize the opportunity. Going all-in will merely scare most individuals into folding and not making a wager.

If you’re in the starting seat (1st or 2nd to place a bet), you will lay a single bet. Any player with good cards will call, with hope someone might raise. If someone has made a raise don’t spring to re-raise or call, wait for a short while – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.

After the flop your course of action will be to eliminate anybody that could get a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise aggressively, if you’re fortunate you’ll fool one player into believing that you’re faking it.

If you are in the middle or later spot (one of the last to cast your bet) you’ll observe as every player calls and then raise. Even with you holding a pair of aces, if you can try to abstain from a show-down. Defend your hand by forcing others to fold after the flop. If you do not force out your opponents you risk losing your hand.
