Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the east with the wild west in an excellent game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the casino, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers play against other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to fret about other, more knowledgeable individuals winning their cash.

An additional Pai Gow benefit is the relatively slow game play, beginners will be able to take their time and strategize without having to make frenzied choices.

It’s also easier to gamble on for a long time with basically a tiny bit of cash after all, to lose, each of your hands needs to be under both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the casino receives 7 cards face down.

One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
