Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve last table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best enthusiasts in the world. While gambling on net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I think tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest players in the world may be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found playing online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes Omaha and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
